Artist to artist, be honest, you’ve got shelves and drawers full of magnet gels, right? What can I say? We’re all a bunch of magpies drawn to shiny pretty things and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. So for my fellow magpies, Kokoist just dropped six colorful, holographic, shimmery rainbow magnet gels in the new Unicorn Candy Magnet Collection.
If you’re a longtime Kokoist aficionado, you may remember the original discontinued Unicorn Magnet Gel. How does the new Unicorn Candy Magnet Collection compare? Honestly, there is no comparison. This new formula is in a completely different league.
Kokoist has released several stunning magnet gel collections over the years, the Unicorn Candy Magnet Collection stands out for its smooth finish that feels most similar in texture to the Terra Magnet and Water Magnet Collections, but with a less dense holographic shimmer particle.
The jelly opacity and medium viscosity give you a ton of control over the color depth and magnetic effect. You aren’t going to get a fully opaque cream base, so if that’s what you’re after, you’ll want to layer it over a similar solid gel color. Personally, I prefer using a sheer nude base, then applying a thin layer of Unicorn Candy Magnet and fully demagnetizing it before curing. After that, I go in with a second layer and my Kokoist Max Magnet to create the magnetic effect for that glowy, dimensional cat eye look.
If you love velvet nails, cat eye effects, jelly gels, or dimensional, holographic shimmer, Kokoist’s Unicorn Candy Magnet Gels are ridiculously fun to play with and have so much creative potential.
