Celestial Opal | Nail Art Tutorial
It's no secret that I like my nail art simple, unique, and packed with depth.
Enter stage right: Celestial Opal.
This look checks all the boxes.
It's beautiful as a full set across all ten nails or as an accent nail mixed into another manicure. It's versatile, dimensional, and flattering on just about everybody.
Like many of my favorite designs, Celestial Opal builds its depth through layers. Starting with a milky base, we layer duo chrome flakes, aurora foil, gold fiber, and translucent color to create an opalescent effect that shifts with the light.
I originally created this look for my client Missy and was excited to turn it into a step-by-step tutorial so you can recreate it yourself.

Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Prep the nail, apply your base coat, and cure.
Step 2: Apply one coat of Presto Color Gel #3 and cure.
Step 3: Leaving the inhibition layer intact, apply Kokoist Rainbow Mica and Nail Labo Foil Flakes. Tap into place, then burnish Clou Gold Fiber around the perimeter of the nail.
Step 4: Apply a coat of Kokoist Art Clear. Allow it to self-level, then cure.
Step 5: Apply one coat of Presto Color Gel #180 and cure.
Step 6: Leaving the inhibition layer intact, burnish additional gold fiber onto the nail to create more depth.
Step 7: Apply a thin coat of Kokoist Art Clear. Allow it to self-level, then cure.
Step 8: Create a cuff around the cuticle area using Kimagure Cat Liquid Metal Gold Gel and cure for 60 seconds.
Step 9: Apply Kokoist Ultra Glossy Non-Wipe Top Gel and cure.
