On Set: Zara Girls Summer 2026 Campaign
Being a commercial manicurist is honestly the best. I love my salon clients and, believe me, I'll be slinging creative nails in the salon until I keel over my desk and my posture resembles an overcooked cocktail shrimp.
That said, there's something special about commercial work.
In commercial work, I'm a cog in the creative machine. For a clothing campaign, where nails aren't the main focus, the manicure should support the clothing and overall creative direction without becoming a distraction.
When I have an idea of the client's nail direction, I like to use a clear disposable palette to "swatch" color options. This makes it much easier for the client to visualize what's available without waiting for samples or going back and forth. I put each swatch card in a pouch along with the polish options so I'm not rifling through bottles and my station can stay organized. Being prepared and saving time not only streamlines the day, it also helps make you a memorable manicurist.
For the Zara Girls Summer 2026 campaign, we played with a mix of fun solid colors and natural manicures. Clean, simple, polished nails were exactly what the images called for.
